What a great week we had during our 4th Annual Youth Revival! The Holy Spirit was so strong all week, that you could feel it when you came through the door. A wonderful week of praising the Lord through song and preaching! We want to thank all who came to support it this year, especially Second Mile, Bro. Kyle Mercer, Bro. Steve Glosson, Bro. James Lightsey, and last but certainly not least, Bro. Shannon Knight. We were so blessed to have him and his wife Haley with us for the last 3 nights of Revival.
11 of us left Monday morning for Cramerton, NC to attend Youth Aflame! It was a tremendous conference with powerful preaching and singing, lots of fun, and a great opportunity for our young people to meet other young people who are serving the Lord. Southeastern College does a great job planning this conference. We look forward to returning next year. I know that our young people were moved and I pray changed.
Don't miss a spectacular summer at Sand Hill Creek Church! It is a summer designed for the whole family and to assist our church in further discipling the family of God. We need a church where we grow together in Christ through the preaching and teaching of His Word as well as times of fellowship and fun where we can get to know one another and grow together in Christ. Check out our summer at Sand Hill:
May 27--Family Bowling at Rockin Eight Bowling in Douglas, GA 10:00-3:00 (Kids play free; adults $3,50 per game)
We are honored to have Timothy Sexton to intern for us this summer here at Sand Hill Creek. Timothy will be a junior at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College this fall. It is a joy for this pastor to be able to have his youngest son work with me for the summer. We have a lot of exciting things going on and praying for a spiritually fruitful summer. Pray for Timothy and all the young people he will be ministering to.
The Word of God says, “O give thanks unto the Lord…” Well, I want to take a little space to give thanks to my Lord. I said to our church recently that if God never blessed me again I have enough to praise Him for forever. He has blessed me and my family beyond measure. It is wonderful thing to be in the will of God and experience all the wonderful things He has prepared for His children who seek to do His will. God has been so good to me personally.
I realize we live in the Bible belt but yet I also realize there are many who do not have a church they attend regularly. There are many reasons folks do not attend church and I can't think of any good reason not to go to church. The Lord has commanded us to go to church (Hebrews 10:25). However, in a day of dead and dying churches, I also realize it's often hard to find a good, Biblically sound, thriving, New Testament Church. So, if you have not found a church you attend regularly I would like to encourage you to visit with us.
So thankful for all the Lord is doing in our ministry. We have had a summer jump rather than a summer slump. We have seen six young people saved in the last few weeks and God has brought four new families in the last month. God blessed us with an outstanding VBS with 75 kids registering. The spirit of our services has been a revival type atmosphere and the Lord is doing great things in the hearts and lives of our people. To God be the glory, great things He is doing!
